Mint Julep

A classic Mint Julep served traditionally in a frosted metal silver julep cup, packed with crushed ice and muddled fresh mint sprigs.

Ingredients

  • 2.5 oz Bourbon A solid mid-shelf bourbon is perfect.
  • 8–10 leaves Fresh mint Do not shred it. Press gently to release aroma.
  • 1/2 oz Simple syrup Adjust sweeter if needed.

How to make it

  1. Add mint and simple syrup to a glass.
  2. Gently press the mint with a muddler or spoon.
  3. Add bourbon.
  4. Fill with crushed ice.
  5. Stir until the glass gets very cold.
